One of the messages that strikes me is how Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi emphasizes that the Dala’il al-Khayrat is a book that changes you.

Today the Shaykh spoke about Imam al-Jazuli’s use of the signs in the heavens and the earth to provide measures of prayers on our beloved Prophet ﷺ. And how by doing so, he directs our focus to observing the vastness and beauty of the signs around us, rather than focussing on the nitty gritty details of what is happening to us and to those around us.

He inspires us to ponder on these bigger signs of Allah ﷻ, filling us with awe and reverence of our Creator, and then eloquently uses this to quantify prayers and blessings on the Prophet ﷺ. Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi is showing us that this wonderful book is not just a book of love for the Prophet ﷺ but it is a book illustrating Imam al-Jazuli’s deep love for Allah ﷻ and showing us how the love of both Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ, are so inextricably linked to each other and are essential for us on our journey of worship and obedience to our Lord.

The beauty of this is that despite the tremendous weight of the message, it is delivered so subtly, in a book of prayers, that any Muslim, scholar or non-scholar can engage with, and that recitation inspires change within you.

In a world that has become so fast paced,  anything that makes us pause, still our hearts and reflect is something truly worth treasuring.
