A Revived Sunnah

The Istanbul Bukhari Recital of Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi was a milestone for the Muslim world, reviving a scholarly tradition that has been practiced throughout the Islamic history.

Chain Transmission

700 students received and ijaza together with the Madkhal, a wonderful book on Sahih al-Bukhari, authored by His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi and gifted by him to the students.

It brings a deep sense of gratitude before Allah as we commemorate the anniversary of the Sahih Bukhari Recital of the erudite scholar Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi in Istanbul one year ago. 

A HISTORICAL EVENT

The Khatam was completed on the 2nd Muharram / 1st September 2019. For 11 days, the Mihrima Sultan mosque  – one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in Istanbul – was filled with spiritual life  and movement.

8000 people attended the khatam, and ijaza was granted to 700 students, together with the the “Madkhal” – a wonderful book on Sahih al-Bukhari, authored by His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi and gifted by him to the students. 

Local scholars testified to its impact, and it drew the attention of the media. The event was a milestone for the Muslim world, reviving a scholarly tradition that was practiced throughout he history of Islam. 

THE SEED TO SCHOLARLY HERITAGE

The event was the seed that took root and inspired us to form the Scholarly Heritage Association – an initiative to support the works of His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi. Our aim is to come together to utilise our skills at the service of the Shaykh. This also means to serve the Ummah at large, by preserving the tradition of Islamic teaching with the highest standards of quality and utmost adab.  

It is our delight and a privilege to serve one of the luminaries of our time; the teacher and educator of the Ummah, who gives advice and admonishing the man in the street as well as the leaders of the world, officially recognised to be among the 40 most influential Muslims today: Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi. We are indebted to him for his constant advice and encouragement, and for accepting this service from us.  May Allah preserve him for the benefit of the Ummah.
