Day 2 of the Remembrance Tour – Embracing Faith and Resilience
On Day 2 of our tour, participants delved into the profound strength that comes from faith and remembrance of Allah (dhikr). We explored how true submission to Allah empowers us to face life’s challenges with courage and composure. Through prayer, fasting, Qur’an recitation, and learning from the Prophet’s life, we are reminded to stay steadfast in both good times and adversity.
Today’s focus was on embracing gratitude and patience. When blessings come, we thank Allah, recognizing His mercy as the source of all success. In times of hardship, we respond with patience and resilience, seeking comfort in the words, “Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best of guardians.”
We learned that dhikr, like the powerful phrase “HasbunAllahu wa ni’mal wakeel,” can transform our circumstances and provide spiritual and practical solutions. By committing to daily remembrance and trusting in Allah, we build an inner strength that guides us through life’s ups and downs.
As we continue this journey, we encourage everyone to keep their hearts connected to Allah, finding peace and strength in His remembrance. May our faith grow stronger, and may we always find solace in knowing that Allah hears us and is with us in every moment.
The tour continues to other cities, including Harrow, Birmingham, and Bradford, offering more opportunities for people to experience these transformative gatherings. Each session aims to foster a deeper spiritual awareness and encourage participants to connect with their faith in meaningful ways.

Day 3 of the Remembrance Tour – Understanding Tawhid and Aligning with the Divine Will
On the third day of our tour in Barking, Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi illuminated the profound importance of tawhid — the oneness of Allah — emphasizing that it is not merely a belief, but a foundational principle that should influence every aspect of a Muslim’s life. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their attachment to worldly possessions and realign their priorities to demonstrate their devotion to Allah above all else.
The Shaykh emphasized that recognizing Allah’s existence is straightforward for any reflective person—requiring only a moment of contemplation on the natural world. However, the true essence of tawhid goes much deeper. It is about acknowledging and living with the conviction that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah. Even the simplest observations, such as those made by the Bedouins of pre-Islamic Arabia, who inferred the existence of a Creator from the stars and camels, serve as evidence of His existence. Yet, as believers, our certainty is anchored not just in the physical world, but firmly in the Qur’anic revelation: “Say, He is Allah, the One; Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.”
Shaykh al-Yaqoubi reminded us that it is not enough to merely accept Allah’s existence; we must strive to move beyond blind imitation and actively engage our intellect in recognizing the signs of Allah around us. This deeper reflection enables us to understand why we worship Allah and helps us to embody true tawhid in our daily lives.
He further explained that the apparent simplicity of these arguments—the design and the kalam cosmological argument—though profound in nature, can be understood by everyone, demonstrating the clear evidence of Allah’s existence and sovereignty. This clarity should inspire us to prioritize our spiritual commitments over worldly attachments.

Day 4 of the Remembrance Tour – The Transformative Power of Dhikr
On Day 4 of our tour in Harrow, Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi shared profound insights into the significance of Dhikr — the remembrance of Allah—as a transformative practice that strengthens our spiritual connection and shields us from life’s challenges.
Shaykh al-Yaqoubi emphasised that Dhikr, more than any other command in the Quran, is repeatedly stressed as a vital practice for believers. Allah says, “O you who believe, remember Allah with much remembrance.” This isn’t just for moments of peace; it’s crucial in times of hardship, including during battles. The Shaykh explained that the neglect of Dhikr in challenging times can lead to defeat, both externally and internally.
He urged everyone to reflect on their daily routines and consider how much time they dedicate to remembering Allah. Even a single hour of Dhikr each day, reciting simple phrases like “La ilaha illallah” (There is no deity but Allah) or “Astaghfirullah” (I seek forgiveness from Allah), can bring immense peace, protection, and success in one’s endeavors.
Shaykh al-Yaqoubi reminded the audience of a powerful saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): “Shall I not tell you of the best of your deeds…which is better for you than spending gold and silver, and better than fighting your enemy? It is the remembrance of Allah.” This highlights Dhikr as the most rewarding act a believer can perform, bringing blessings far greater than material wealth or physical struggles.

Day 5 of the Remembrance Tour – A Spiritual Gathering in Smethwick
On Day 5 of our Remembrance Tour, Smethwick witnessed a moving gathering of dhikr (remembrance) and hadrah (spiritual chanting), led by Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi. This evening was filled with the heartfelt invocation of Allah’s name, drawing the community together in a profound act of worship and reflection.
Shaykh al-Yaqoubi began with a powerful recitation, emphasizing the importance of gratitude (shukr) in our daily lives. Reflecting on the teachings of Imam Al-Qushayri, he reminded us that true gratitude to Allah is the key to unlocking further blessings. “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favour],” the Qur’an promises.
The Shaykh also highlighted that gratitude can be expressed in three ways: through the tongue, by speaking words of thanks; through actions, by using Allah’s blessings in His service; and through the heart, by feeling genuine appreciation for Allah’s favours. He encouraged everyone to recognise and thank Allah for every blessing, big or small, as this strengthens our connection with Him.
The gathering also delved into the names of Allah, such as Al-Ghafoor (The Forgiving) and Al-Shakoor (The Appreciative), which offer spiritual remedies and uplift our hearts during difficult times. Shaykh al-Yaqoubi emphasised the importance of invoking these names in our prayers to find comfort and healing.
The evening concluded with a powerful reminder of the importance of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) in every aspect of our lives. Reflecting on the natural world around us is a simple yet profound way to recognize Allah’s existence and greatness, as even the simplest of His creations point to His eternal presence.
As we continue on this spiritual journey, the Remembrance Tour will be concluding tonight in Bradford with the Grand Finale. We invite everyone to join Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi for an evening of faith, reflection, and community. Don’t miss this chance to deepen your connection with Allah and experience the transformative power of remembrance.

Day 6 of the Remembrance Tour – A Sublime Gathering at Ashton Central Mosque
On Day 6 of the Remembrance Tour, Ashton Central Mosque was filled with a profound sense of peace and spirituality during a sublime session of dhikr (remembrance of Allah). The powerful voice of Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi echoed throughout the masjid, resonating deeply with everyone present. It was a moment of deep reflection, as the community came together to invoke the names of Allah in a collective act of worship and devotion.
Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi delivered a stirring talk, highlighting the importance of dhikr and the purity of Tawhid (the oneness of Allah). He reminded the audience of the timeless wisdom of Imam Abu al-Hassan al-Shadhili, who emphasised the significance of constantly repeating the name of “Allah” to cleanse the heart and strengthen our connection to Him. The Shaykh explained that the invocation of “Allah” encompasses all attributes of Allah and serves as a powerful means of attaining spiritual closeness.
Drawing from the teachings of the Sufi tradition, Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi spoke about the different aspects of Tawhid — Tawhid-ul-Dhat (Oneness of His Essence), Tawhid-ul-Sifat (Oneness of His Attributes), and Tawhid-ul-Afaal (Oneness of His Actions). He explained that understanding and internalising these concepts allows us to see that Allah is unique in His essence, attributes, and actions, with no equal or partner. The Shaykh emphasised that through sincere worship and remembrance, believers can achieve a state of spiritual purity, detaching themselves from worldly distractions and focusing solely on their Creator.
The gathering also reflected on the importance of humility and sincerity in worship. Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi shared stories from the life of Imam Abu al-Hassan al-Shadhili, who exemplified the virtues of patience, humility, and devotion. The Shaykh urged everyone to adopt these qualities in their own spiritual journeys, striving to be true servants of Allah. He reminded the audience that true miracles and spiritual openings are not in extraordinary feats but in humble, sincere worship and devotion to Allah alone.
The evening at Ashton Central Mosque was a powerful reminder of the transformative power of dhikr and the importance of remaining steadfast in faith. The attendees left with their hearts uplifted, filled with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper connection to Allah.
